About "The Quiet One"

George Harrison was the youngest of all the Beatles. He was born February 25, 1943 in Liverpool England. The Beatles thought of him as a child. He was considered the quiet one, and he was only allowed two songs an album. Which he later argued about because he felt he deserved more cuts.

He was the third original Beatle and he was not accepted at first. When the Beatles would play clubs he was used to carry equipment and if someone was gone he would fill in for them. After playing as a substitute for a while he was eventually accepted into the group.

One thing about him was that he was persistent. This later paid off. He did everything that the other Beatles did and he was witty as all the others were. During the Beatles fame he became interested in Indian music. On the album "Rubber Soul" he played the Sitar, and Indian instrument that he was experimenting with. The only song where he played the instrument was "Norwegian Wood". He later said that he was not playing the instrument well during that song and that he still needed to learn a lot.

George eventually married a woman named Patty Boyd. Later when he played with Eric Clapton his wife became interested in Clapton. Soon she divorced him and married Clapton. Somehow Clapton and George managed to stay friends. Eric then made a song about her entitled "Layla". Know one knows why the name is the way it is but it is suspected that she had that nickname.

Near the breakup of the Beatles they all started taking drugs heavily which affected not only their lives but their songs. Their songs soon became filled with different instruments and got stranger every song. Now everyone was done with the Beatles and they were all ready to go off on their own. So eventually that's what happened. John Lennon said that when Paul, and Ringo left and he and George stayed that, that was the beginning of the end of the Beatles. He also said it was a slow death from that point on.

NOTE: The Mahahrishi had courted a young lady at one of his meeting which made many people question his authority and sacredness.

After the Beatles broke up he had only a few hits. Such as "I got my mind set on you". Still he remains a legend in everyone's mind...
